1、“我有事”的英文表达
如果将“我有事”直译成 "I have things"， 那就是中式英语了。因为我们平常所说的“我有事”，指的是“我有事情去做” ，所以才要婉拒对方 。
“我有事”的正确英文表达是 "I have things to do."，这是偏正式的说法 。还有一个说法比较口语化，也很常用： "I've got stuff(to do)."
例句：
①I have things to do. Let's call it a day.
我有点事情，今天就到这儿吧。
②I've got stuff to do, so I can't hang out with you today."
我有事，所以今天不能跟你出去玩了。
2、“手头有很多事情要做”的英文表达
"手头有很多事要做" 可以说“I have a lot of things to do.”另外有一个更口语化的表达"have（get） one's hands full "，指非常忙；手头有很多事要做 。
例句：
①He can't help today because he has his hands full. He has to go shopping, pick his children up from school and then cook dinner.
他今天帮不了忙，因为他很忙，得去购物、接孩子，然后做晚饭。
②Could I talk to you later? I've got my hands full right now.
我能晚点跟你说吗？我现在手头有好多事儿。
3、I have a thing for you
别人对你说 "I have a thing for you"，不要以为是“有东西要给你”？而是他/她对你“有好感；有点意思”。
例句：
①He has a thing for you.
他对你有点意思。
②They have a thing for each other.
他们之间有点感觉。
4、It's my thing
"It's my thing" 的意思是：“我擅长的；我的兴趣爱好”。
例句：
①Painting is my thing.
画画是我擅长的事。
②That's his/her thing.
那是他/她的强项
5、a whole thing
"a whole thing" 不是“一整件事情”，而是指容易引起争议的“复杂的情况”。
例句：
①I forgot to invite Penny to the wedding, and now it's a whole thing.
我忘记邀请Penny来参加婚礼了，现在情况变得复杂了起来。
